It was time to really hit Chaos;Child hard on Sunday, as I’d spent enough time letting the story play out for content. I quickly blew through the story on fast-forward, and using the guide got all the scenes and choices I needed… except my final 100% achievements didn’t pop. So, I spent a couple hours replaying a bunch of saves to try and figure out what I’d missed. After many attempts, I finally realized the stupid achievement was just glitched, so a quick reset of the console had everything I needed unlocking. Waste of time!

… Oh… hey. Wrong room. I’m… just gonna go.
Well, it’s been a bit, but sure enough there is new content and achievements for Vampire Survivors, so it was back to the Dracula-less arenas. Different verse, same as the first: evolve the new weapon, survive for a while in the new level, find a new relic, etc etc. No adventure achievements again, thankfully, but the list was mixed up this time with an achievement for surviving 15 minutes in Inverse Boss Rash with Random Events and Random Level Ups! That was pretty easy/fun, so it was nice for a change of pace. But, overall, I just really enjoy this game every time I return, so I’m not complaining.

A quick lull in my itinerary found time to get around to KLETKA, a game that bestie TommyToday had discovered a bit back when it released in February 2026. Her, her hubby Gh0st Who Walks, and I had been keeping an eye on sales so we could grab it and that time finally came a couple weeks ago! The premise is you’re a prisoner that must survive the Soviet “Gigakhrushchevka” by descending into the endless depths, floor-by-floor, via a living elevator that you must keep pleased or risk being devoured. You also deal with monsters, various biomes and hazards, and the occasional anomalous event (oh, hey there, Backrooms…). Your goal is to scavenge the floors you can for supplies, so you often have to make the decision whether to just skip some instead of risking more damage or use of tools for little reward. It’s a lot of fun, and we burned through it pretty quick. There are more than a few achievements that require a dash of luck, like coming across particular floors or enemies (and slaying them) while also trying to stay alive. The biggest slap in the face is that after making it all the way to the bottom, even the final enemy is random and both of the two options have an achievement related to them. It took until our third successful run to finally get the one we needed, along with the final anomaly floor on the way (whoa). The best part was we found an easy way to earn the one “tough” achievement, for completing a run without using a flashlight. All you had to do is load into the final floor and only then not use your flashlight and, boom, achievement! I really enjoyed this one, both for the friendly bonding but also the creepy and claustrophobic atmosphere. We’re definitely gonna find more “friend-slop”/co-op games soon.

Oh no… poor Betelgeuse!
It’s a new month, so of course we have a new batch of games leaving the Xbox Game Pass library. It was a sizeable list this time, but the only one that really stuck out was Dungeons of Hinterberg. I’d actually previewed it back when it joined the service, for my currently defunct Blaze series, and while I didn’t vibe with it at the time everyone else raved about it and I felt I should give it another chance once it finally was announced as leaving. I’m glad I did, because a few in-game days and almost ten dungeons in and I’m actually enjoying it a lot more. For this one, you are a young career-person off into the Alps for a vacation doing the new craze: learning magic and going into the magically spawning dungeons to kill monsters. It’s a neat concept, but I quickly lost interest in the narrative and started fast-forwarding. I’m not having much trouble at this point, so we’ll see how it goes!
