“This area’s gonna get messy!”
Achievements Earned In:
- G-Force
- Slender: The Arrival
- Minecraft (Windows, Switch)
Well, my opinion on G-Force sure changed this week. I had fairly close to glowing praise for this rare example of a competent, licensed tie-in, but… hoo boy. Overall, even moving to the hardest difficulty didn’t make the game much less enjoyable to play. No, what got me was the stupid upgrade system, with its related achievement. Usually when you play a game like this, obtaining and seeking out every collectible and/or every token scattered about the levels is usually more than enough to unlock all the upgrades in the game. Especially if there’s no New Game+,, the resources for upgrading are finite, and extra if there’s a dang achievement tied to it! But, no, playing through multiple times and even using a cheese against the couple respawning fire extinguishers to boost my numbers STILL wasn’t enough! It wasn’t until I started fresh and used an exploit in the second level to essentially grind infinite SaberSense chips was I finally able to get the achievement. For the other achievements I mentioned last week, like having a high accuracy, was all quite easy. As the weekend began, I started my final (hopefully?) playthrough on Special Agent difficulty. I’m going to shorten my time with this game best I can and I’ll be wrapping in my speedrun, too. Hopefully this is all knocked out by the next entry!

Man, I sure do hate fire extinguishers…
Popped into Slender: The Arrival again on Tuesday to get an achievement. I haven’t had to leave the prologue/tutorial area yet, but I’m officially out of easy achievements here.

With no easy achievements left elsewhere, and G-Force giving me so many issues playthrough after playthrough, it was time to knock out some Minecraft! First up was the Windows version of the game, where I hadn’t gotten the newest update’s achievement. It was easy enough to download an updated version of one the various maps around that get you the achievements and unlock what I needed. Then I switched over to an alt account, loaded the map up again, and let my account on the Nintendo Switch version jump in for some, too. Nice and quick.
