I was kinda between games, and the list of games leaving Game Pass in the second half of March hadn’t been released, so I decided to dive way back and play a game I had purchased a long while ago. I’d seen the key art for Bard's Gold many times in my collection over the years, since I purchased it on a whim in a sale, not really knowing anything about it. Even all this time later, I still don’t know what in the world the game entails. Turns out, this is essentially “baby’s first Spelunky” as it’s a rouge-lite platformer where you delve deeper into a dungeon while dodging OHKO attacks and traps. There are only four floors to fight through, with each having seven “rooms” to fight through capped off with a boss fight. I quickly found having the 3 Way Daggers and a power increase is the best combo to get through the areas, and overall the game is pretty easy. Even things like not dying through an entire level is simple enough if you take it slow. Glad I finally can uninstall and hide this one!

I know I need to go down there… but I don’t wanna.

Reluctantly, I returned to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on Monday since that dang leaving list still hadn’t come out and I figured I shouldn’t start something new for now. The campaign part of the completion involves finishing every mission as both Autobots and Decepticons with a platinum medal, and I started with the Autobots. I was only a tad worried at first because those platinum times are pretty tight, but quickly figured out that if you (unlock and) use Ironhide to very quickly blast your way through the enemies the times are far more manageable. Especially his turret! And while this seems pretty easy… good lord I hate the controls. Like, the way the ‘bots move and fight already feel pretty jank from being a licensed title from over 15 years ago, but what MORON made “shoot” and “transform” the same button? So often I’d be firing at an enemy and let go of the LT (mostly from gaming habit to change targets) and immediately transform into a vehicle. It was annoying every single time! It’s also a massive pain how all of the enemies don’t “seek cover” when I’m attacking them as much as they just straight up just run away. Since everything is timed it is pretty horrid to have your targets play keep away. I’m not super worried, though.

Finally, Tuesday rolls around and Xbox (and TrueAchievements) announced which games are leaving the Game Pass library. The two games both ended up being very easy, so I started with Peppa Pig: World Adventures. Just like the last time, this is a very simple completion where you don’t have to engage with most of the content to grab all the achievements. Following the walkthrough on TA you can guide your avatar and his annoying, insufferable new pig friend through the areas of the world (all inhabited by people with starkly light complexions…) and complete the miscellaneous tasks and see the sights to get every achievement. Only takes about an hour!

Why is the freaking queen driving our bus? She doesn’t have a license!

The other game leaving Game Pass is Mad Streets, a 4-player physics-based party game a lá Gang Beasts. But, instead of being blobby humanoids that fights in various stages, you’re a member of various gangs that fights other gangs around various stages. Once in a while a stage will give you a special task other than beating up your opponents, like beating up a car or beating up chess pieces. The campaigns for each gang are very easy (as you don’t even have to win to progress) and the one “hard” achievement simply requires four human players to unlock, which is easy when you have as many controllers as I have. Easy and quick completion!

Uh… guys? A little help?

Just a little more Rattyvity Lab this week, knocking out the “add-on” achievements by reaching level 9. The puzzles continue to be mostly very simplistic. And this week I noticed there a little “trial version” label on the bottom of the screen. Are… they ever gonna add more?
