I only had one main goal in Lightyear Frontier to wrap things up: get Diane to move in. As I’d mentioned last week, this is mostly what makes the game take so long, since she requires steel to finish up her decor and you don’t unlock that until Milestone 10. That’s a fair amount of grinding for one thing, but I powered through and just started focusing on only growing what I needed to get another upgrade as quickly as possible. Having a good few animals on the farm from my attempts to get rare ones helped get those delivery goals checked off, too. I managed to get that last achievement checked off Sunday due to the stockpile of materials I’d amassed and had everything I needed, along with the couple of miscellaneous achievements I just hadn’t bothered doing. Boom, done! I think I’d recommend this one, though I’ll keep my thoughts open since I will almost surely be returning for future achievements.

You better freaking be a rare animal or I’ll be performing a post-hatch abortion.
Another title leaving the Game Pass library this half of March is Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, and I’m not sure what else is more important to point out here than how much I hate the facial animations of the various characters. It just bugged me every time they came up in a dialogue scene. Ugh, so off-putting! Beyond that, this is a pretty routine gameplay loop: speak to new deity, get task to complete throughout the game (refill fountains for Poseidon, recover souls for Hades, etc), and uncover hidden items around for them. Since you unlock sections of the islands as you progress and various things for each god are hidden in every area, you can’t really complete anything until the very end. But that’s it, and it’s also pretty short; I started it on Monday and finished it easily on Tuesday. And I daresay the story isn’t all that interesting. This is probably my fault since you don’t have to really engage with the conversations the gods can have with you to fill out their backstories. Maybe I would have been more invested if I had? Eh, who’s to say?

Zeus and Hera have such strong “couple that saw you from across the bar” vibes.
Okay okay, fine, I finally returned to Duke Nukem Forever on Wednesday to knock out the “The Doctor Who Cloned Me” add-on, which is mercifully short and easy. It’s more of the base game, so if you loved the juvenile outdated humor and shoddy gunplay there, you’ll love this. But you can knock out all the achievements besides the Insane difficulty one in a single go; I even managed to get the second pinball achievement in a single attempt! The Insane playthrough was easy enough that I only had to make use of the cheats in a few sections. So glad to have this one done. I just did not enjoy my time with this old relic.

I know I have objectives… but I’m distracted.
Just jumped into Rattyvity Lab quick on Friday for an achievement. The game continues to be kinda jank and easy. Perfect for my occasional achievement needs.
