It was time to wrap up Journey to the Savage Planet: Employee of the Month Edition first thing this week. To start, I ran through the game quick on “Old Game Minus” mode, which makes fun of the typical New Game Plus by actually giving you LESS to work with, adding a lives system. Die three times and it erases your save file! You also HAVE to beat all three bosses, whereas in the normal game you can escape once you have five of the ten fuel pods. …Which I’d forgotten and had originally intended to do my speedrun and Old Game Minus solo at the same time by skipping out once I had my fifth fuel. While this obviously didn’t work, I still managed to get my speedrun achievement even having to run through the entire game! I only died once, and that’s only because I didn’t realize you will lose a life if you fall off the map too many times. Whoops! It was time to do the short and fairly easy add-on planet from my original playthrough on Tuesday, and having way more than enough materials left over to grab the new visor upgrades made finding the various collectibles quick. The worst part of being on DL-C1 (see what they did there?) is when you have to enter the ocean for some collectibles. You walk so slow and it’s just a chore to navigate. Finally, on Wednesday I needed one final run with Blue Melodia on Old Game Minus for the co-op achievement. And that was easy and I did it faster than ever! Such a fun game.

Huh, he seemed so nice before. CEOs, amirite?
With that “leaving Game Pass” game complete, I figured I’d knock out another really short one. My Friend Peppa Pig is a baby game in the purest sense, where the game is mostly about just walking aimlessly around Peppa’s world and messing with stuff and chatting with the characters from the show. But, when it comes to the completion, you can mainline just what’s necessary and get them all in less than an hour. I know nothing about this show, as even though it was of my kid’s time we kept her away from all vapid nonsense like this show, Caillou, etc.

Mummy Pig’s arsenic cookies made the picnic most memorable.
Now it was time for some cleanup, starting with Palworld. The new Tides of Terraria update dropped this week, so Blue Melodia and I jumped in to check it out. They added a fair amount of content, most notably Pals and equipment from Terraria! It’s pretty weird jumping through a portal and ending up in an area that looks kinda like that other game, with the music and everything. Strangely, there are no achievements tied specifically to the Terraria content itself. Maybe to avoid later discontinued achievements due to licensing issues? The achievements are mostly tied to the new fishing mechanic, the enemy bases around the map, and the arena. The latter isn’t really “new”, though, since there were never achievements tied to it, I never interacted with that feature and couldn’t tell you if anything was added or changed. You have to reach Master rank for the achievements and it’s not very hard at this point, just grindy. Same with the fishing and enemy bases. All-in-all, a fun and easy set of unlocks to get! I spent most of the time just moving and upgrading our main base, and collecting all of the Terraria Pals.

Oddly, defeating Cthulhu isn’t an achievement, but I did it anyway.
Ugh, and back to this pest on Friday. Human Fall Flat received yet another update (the Museum) and, honestly, this one wasn’t too bad. It seemed to fly by, and the achievements were all pretty easy. The “hardest” is probably avoiding any security lasers in a particular section of the heist, but you can skip the entire section and still unlock the achievement, trivializing the whole thing. Happy when these updates don’t annoy me all that much.

While all versions of the game got yet another achievement added, I only jumped into the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft on Saturday as it was time to hit the road for some adventures and I needed to keep my streak going.
