“In the end, the science is all that matters.”
Achievements Earned In:
- Rattyvity Lab
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
- Abiotic Factor
Only had to use Rattyvity Lab on Sunday this week, as writing my blog for the week prior took a little while and I decided to relax the rest of the evening. It’s getting a tad tougher to use this to keep my streak going when I now have to complete a few levels before an achievement pops. Maybe I’ll just go ahead and knock this out soon.

The only thing I had left in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen this week was my final Decepticon run! It had to be done on Expert difficulty, and with an overall 75% completion. When I was getting through the Normal run, I was definitely worried that getting enough good medals would be tough with this batch of missions. Turns out it was unfounded, as I actually easily scored almost a complete sweep of Gold or better medals throughout the entire campaign! Suffice it to say I quickly knocked this out Monday evening after work, and I can finally put this one behind me. What a pain!

Gen 1 is better than the Bayformers.
With that Energon nonsense out of the way, I could return to Abiotic Factor for reals. I decided to replay the beginning, and soon was let loose inside the GATE facility. Turns out they were mucking about with the fabrics of space and time, and now the entire place is locked down and monsters are roaming about. As the new employee, you’re pretty much left to your own devices to figure out what’s going on and how to get out. I didn’t realize how free-form a lot of the minute-to-minute gameplay is, but once you have a good idea of how to stave of thirst and hunger you can start actually progressing through the facility and figuring out the state of the other employees. It wasn’t long until I’d established a pretty competent base (in the opening area, as is tradition in survival games) and was having little issue dispatching the Pest and Peccary mobs that roam the hallways of the Office Sector. At the end of the week I had my first outside excursion to Flathill, and boy did the game take a turn! Sure, accidentally running into a Peccary in a dark hallway is kinda tense, but it never truly became a horror game until The Fog and the Composers came into play. And now I have crazed military dudes shooting at me, too! The spike in difficulty was a bit tough as I ventured into the second zone, Manufacturing, but it just took some upgrading (and more than a little brute force) and I’ve made some progress. I’m not sure what I’m looking for yet, but man this game just itches the brain so good! I’m gonna be a fair bit over the estimate, I think, as I just love clearing out every single room and nook and cranny of anything that isn’t bolted down and carting it back to my base.
