- Abiotic Factor
Man, I’m having such a blast with Abiotic Factor. Like, the sense of exploration as each new area or portal world is unlocked is so satisfying, though there’s little in the way of actual secrets to find. It’s just all about seeking out new materials, reading new lore, and dealing with whatever new monstrosities were hidden within. This week was a plethora of adventure, as I moved through the Manufacturing West (2nd) zone all the way into the Security Sector (4th) zone, while also dipping into other worlds like the scorching hot mushroom dimension (no Jim Carreys in sight), the zombie apocalypse furniture store dimension, the vintage train dimension, or the zombie pilgrims dimension. Truly so cool, because these weird worlds have unique materials to find and furniture to use. It just tickles the brain so well! My base is pretty secure, and even The Order goons can’t successfully get in. There’s just one issue: the Leyak. This creep begins to spawn once you make it into the Cascade Labs and will hunt a player until it’s scared off. If it gets close enough, it gives you a deadly loving on. If you spot him in time you can just stare him away, but it’s endlessly spooky just minding my own business or crafting at home and hearing his moaning and small gasps. Now I’m in Security and there’s this bug-reaper thing that haunts the hallways and is immune to any damage I can dole out currently. I created a crystalline armor set that makes me go invisible so I can sneak around without dealing with its nonsense, but I’m not sure how well that’ll serve me as I progress to stronger enemies I’ll actually have to fight. And I still think I have a good way still to go! Can’t wait to see what else awaits me.
