Another week wandering Escario in Stranger of Sword City: White Palace, and I finally really began to struggle. Not, like, a whole lot, but I ran into a handful of bosses this week that stopped my progress dead in its tracks for a time. I finally made it through the underwater area I was struggling against as last week ended, and proceeded to the ice dungeon where I didn’t have to try too hard. But the storms area that came next was a lot tougher, and I had to make that trek up from the bottom more than a few times, quickly getting incredibly annoyed. But, you know what the entire problem was? I didn’t know I had another suite of spells to use! I’m an idiot, and didn’t realize when you hit RT/LT on the spells selection screen it cycles between healing, offensive, and defensive spells. FREAKING WHAT!? So, now I could increase our hit rate, avoid rate, all of it! Sigh, well, once I found that out even the tough bosses were less so and soon I was way lower level than the TrueAchievements walkthrough recommended. I quickly realized I may not even need to class change as the guide suggested, though I did so with my Cleric and Wizard at least to have the latter with access to multi-cast buffs. I beat the story line (those anti-spell and anti-skill areas were a pain) and am now in the “post-game” White Palace, and… hoo boy that boss is ROUGH. I lose party members almost as soon as the fight starts, and I’m not really sure what I’m gonna do about that… stay tuned.

I don’t know much about Delta Squad besides it being an easy completion. I just needed an achievement quick on Tuesday, and loaded the game up to hit the left trigger to unlock one. Boom, easy. Guess this is my new backup.
